The Great Buddha of Kamakura, Koutokuin
The height of Koutokuin, well known as Kamakura Daibutsu, is 11.31 meters and weighs about 121 tons. The present-day golden-steel Buddha began casting in 1252. The statue was designated as the only national treasure in Kamakura, and the body was covered with gold leaf when it was completed.
